About Smart Nation Ambassadors
Citizens are at the heart of our work. Since the launch of Tech Kaki in 2016 and the Smart Nation Ambassadors in 2019, a community of everyday people has played an active role in the development of our digital products and services. Coming from diverse backgrounds — from students to retirees, academics to tech professionals — they are united by their interest in shaping the future of Singapore’s digital services.
Driven by a shared commitment to building a better digital future for all, Tech Kaki and the Smart Nation Ambassadors were brought together in 2026 under a unified citizen community. Through the refreshed Smart Nation Ambassadors programme, citizens can play a more active role in co-creating digital services, providing feedback, and championing Smart Nation initiatives in their communities.
To date, over 6,000 members have joined us, taking part in focus groups, user testing, surveys and more to ensure that our products and services meet the needs of citizens and businesses.
As a Smart Nation Ambassador, you’ll get first dibs on various government digital products and services before they launch. Read on to explore the potential of your contributions as a SNA member.

Citizens can now spot fraudulent activity better with a redesigned login page for Singpass, thanks to a user research study done with our community members.
A smoother LifeSG inbox experience
With the help of over 100 of our community members who shared their views, the inbox design was enhanced so users could search for applications more easily.
Appreciation events
Annual events are organised so members can come together to meet like-minded individuals from our community and celebrate the impact of our SNA community.
Ways to get involved as a Smart Nation Ambassador?
SNAs co-create digital government services with the community through various formats such as online surveys, focus groups and user-testing sessions where government teams get to understand their pain points and user behaviour so that digital solutions can be built and tailored to meet citizens’ needs.
SNAs help guide the public on the use of digital government solutions. These include demonstrating government apps and helping the public try out new technologies such as sensor technology. For example, SNAs were at the Merdeka Generation Roadshows and SkillsFuture Festival to share with the public the benefits of apps like Singpass Mobile, as well as demonstrate how to download and use them on their smartphones.
SNAs lead and guide groups at events. At larger events such as Digital Inclusion Festival and Smart Nation & U, they act as event guides. They bring the interested public around on tours to event highlights and help guide the public through the various showcases on display.
These are just some of the opportunities that you will be able to participate in. As an SNA, you'll be advocating for the next bound of digital services in Singapore — helping shape what's built, guiding others to use it with confidence, and bringing your community along for the journey.
