GovTech’s role in the Singapore Green Plan 2030

Our journey to net zero
In 2021, the Singapore Government unveiled the Singapore Green Plan 2030, an ambitious and rigorous strategy that outlines the country’s long-term plan to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 with the public sector leading the way.
One of our key focus areas is to take the lead in de-carbonising public sector technology to mitigate global warming and secure a smart and sustainable future for the people living in Singapore.
We drive the sustainability agenda as a convenor and orchestrator of all internal and external stakeholders and touchpoints of GovTech.— Liew Hui Ming, Director, Digitalisation Strategy & Partnership Office

Government Hosting and Cloud Migration
We use centralised energy-efficient data centres to support the consolidation of standalone agency server rooms and data centres.
Green Software
We actively explore green IT tools to augment our existing software development processes, and enable our product teams and engineers to optimise their software to reduce carbon emissions
