Artificial intelligence (AI) is set to unlock possibilities like never before. To help our sister agencies kickstart their own AI transformation journeys, we unveiled LaunchPad, an innovation and experimentation platform.
It offers various in-house solutions to let public officers experience the latest features in generative AI and test the capabilities of different large language models (LLMs).
It also boasts Ideathon, a platform where individuals or teams across the entire government sector can come together to identify bottlenecks, propose ideas, and then brainstorm innovative solutions. Going beyond the ChatGPT-based model that powers Pair Chat, this tool is built on a set of multiple models and enables users to ideate freely. Users can also enjoy more control over the responses generated by each model.

What is the LAUNCH! Hackathon?
Spearheaded by GovTech in collaboration with various government agencies and esteemed industry partners, LAUNCH! is a movement towards fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration across the public sector. Through LAUNCH!, public officers can submit an idea, upvote ideas that resonate with them, and comment and give suggestions on ideas that they are interested in. We are continuing to match ideas to our current central products, and inviting impactful ideas to be prototyped during our Hackathon sprints.
How LAUNCH! Supports Agencies:
Idea enhancement
Agencies can utilise the LaunchPad platform to refine ideas, engage with participants, and track the most popular concepts.
Idea triage and matchmaking
GovTech will evaluate ideas and align them with existing solutions, spotlighting central products that address agency-specific challenges. Agencies are encouraged to explore these products and learn how they can be tailored to their needs.
Prototyping and development
Selected ideas will progress to the LAUNCH! hackathon sprints, where GovTech’s engineers and data scientists collaborate with business teams to bring prototypes to life. Regular hackathons every two months ensure these ideas receive continuous development.
Showcasing and scaling
Successful proofs of concept (POCs) will be highlighted at the year-end event. Agencies will receive support to scale their solutions, either through expanding central product features or partnering with industry experts for deployment.
